Abstract and event structure
The Forum “Stone is…” aims to reopen reflection on the role of natural stone in the oscillation of thought between the immaterial and the material within the transformations of the contemporary in architecture, design, and art.
The Forum is cadenced by six sections:
Taken together, the sections trace a collection of ideas and examples found toward others new to imagine. Through the contributions of some of the most significant speakers on the national and international scene, the aim is to achieve the construction of a “material alphabet,” mapping, for stone design. Each speaker will propose a keyword in response to the Forum’s title “Stone is…”. With the Forum will remain a mapping of heterogeneous words that orient us toward a new form of design for a zero-emission planet Earth that finds in the original, material question a possible custody of the immaterial quality of design thinking.
The official languages of the Forum will be Italian and English.
Simultaneous translation via web-app streaming downloadable to cell phones directly at the event venue is planned (so earphones are encouraged).
