Peter Eisenman (Newark, 1932) is an internationally renowned architect and professor, known for his award-winning projects, including the Galician Culture City in Santiago de Compostela, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin, the Wexner Center for the Arts, the Aronoff Center for Design and Art, the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Ohio, and the Carlo Erba Residences in Milan. He founded the Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies in New York in 1967 and has received numerous awards, including the Golden Lion at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2004 and the Wolf Foundation Prize in the Arts in 2010. He has taught at prestigious universities such as Yale, Cambridge, Princeton, and Harvard and is the author of important books on architectural theory. Eisenman has received numerous honorary doctorates and holds degrees from Cornell, Columbia, and Cambridge.
