She was born in Tokyo and graduated in the master’s program at the Faculty of Architecture, Waseda University in Tokyo.
From 1993 to 1995, she worked at the GK Sekkei Inc. studio of the GK Group in Tokyo.
Angelo Mangiarotti (Milan, 1921-2012) was a leading Italian architect, designer, and sculptor. For nearly two decades he was joined by the young Japanese architect Kinue Horikawa (Tokyo, 1967), Master of Architecture at Waseda University in Tokyo with Professor Osamu Ishiyama. After two years of experience at GK Sekkei Inc. studio in Tokyo, she joined Studio Angelo Mangiarotti in Milan in 1995. She has also been working with Agape S.r.l. as a promoter since 2017. Horikawa is now a member of the scientific committee of the Mangiarotti Foundation and a member of Mangiarotti Associati Japan. In the Foundation, established through the initiative of his nephew Edoardo Mangiarotti, Horikawa is in charge of the archive and promotional activities concerning Angelo Mangiarotti’s work.
