The book Splendor of Marble: Marvelous Spaces by the World’s Top Architects and Designers, Rizzoli, New York, 2020 describes the uniqueness of natural stones and illustrates their multiple applications in the field of interior design.
Written by Karen Pearse – internationally recognized expert in marble and natural stones and founder of Karen Pearse Global Direct – with a foreword by Massimo Ferragamo, president of Ferragamo USA, the book offers a comprehensive overview of the varieties of marble and natural stones and explores the design possibilities in domestic environments. In the 256 pages of the book that follows, there are realizations of bathrooms, kitchens, outdoor spaces, corridors, stairs, and living rooms to demonstrate the variety of uses, colors, and patterns of this extraordinary natural material.

The images show scenographic and luxurious settings, curated by well-known architects and interior designers such as Kelly Wearstler, Vincente Wolf, Juan Pablo Molyneux, Bjarke Ingels, Ryan Korban, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Robert Kime, Haas Brothers, and Joseph Dirand.
Since the ’80s, the author has been working with architects, designers, and retailers; her body of work can be seen in a variety of settings, from luxury residences to large commercial spaces, from hotels to designer boutiques such as La Samaritaine, Paris; Neiman Marcus, Hudson Yards; Louis Vuitton; Saks Fifth Avenue, New York Flagship; Bloomingdale’s; Time Warner Center, NYC; Four Seasons, San Francisco, and Macau; Per Se, NYC; DFS Hong Kong Plaza.
