Italian Architecture Award, second edition

The second edition of the Italian Architecture Award, promoted by Triennale Milano and MAXXI Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo, will take place at the Triennale. This year the T Young Claudio De Albertis Award dedicated to young Italian architects will also be awarded.
“With the second edition of the Italian Architecture Award – explains Stefano Boeri, President of Triennale di Milano – we consolidate the commitment of MAXXI in promoting the most innovative and relevant project proposals, able to face the complex challenges of our present, a present in which it is increasingly evident the need to place the project at the center of an international debate, where the project becomes the catalyst for change in this contemporary society…”

Created from the experience of the Gold Medal Prize for Italian Architecture awarded by the Triennale di Milano and the project YAP – Young Architects Program of MAXXI, the Italian Architecture Award is a yearly project that takes place in alternate years between Rome and Milan.
Says Giovanna Melandri, President of the MAXXI Foundation: “The new edition of the Prize kicks off at the very moment when it is more than ever necessary to rebuild a virtuous relationship between people, the environment and built spaces, a moment in which even the President of the European Commission has called for architects and creatives from all over the Union to contribute to the construction of a new social and civil landscape, which she synthesized in the expression New European Bauhaus…”

The first edition was held in 2020 at MAXXI and is the result of the new collaboration that sees Rome and Milan working together for the enhancement of Italian architecture, through the promotion of works made by Italian designers or those who are active in Italy, whose commitment is aimed at innovation, the quality of the project, and the social role of architecture.
The finalists will be shown from June to August 2021 in an exhibition at the Triennale, the winners will be announced during an official awards ceremony. Among these the editorial staff of naturalstoneisbetter will not fail to point out the projects where Authentic Natural Stone is the protagonist in the architecture in the competition.
