Claudia Chiappino is the first woman in Italy to manage a quarry site. But she is the perfect guest for the PNA International Forum because natural stone is her true vocation: a genuine passion that drives her to explore and photograph abandoned mines, and that led her to co-found the Association for the Conservation of Mining Traditions and the Mining Company. A graduate in mining engineering, she was appointed Quarry Manager at a prestigious British multinational but later left the role to focus on the design and management of quarries and mines, Sustainable Development (LCA, EPD) in the production of stone and industrial materials, and Research & Development in the field of raw materials. It is this professional approach, in addition to her deep passion, that brings her into the Quarry & Construction Sites: CO2 Check-Up section of the Forum—dedicated to both the allure and sustainability of stone production—in which she will lead two seminars, titled ALPHABET WITH STONES at 10:30 a.m. on June 12 and 13.
