Angela Vettese is a professor of Contemporary Art at the Iuav University of Venice, where she coordinates the doctoral program in Visual, Performing and Fashion Arts.She is the author of numerous books, including Contemporary Art Between the Market and New Languages (Il Mulino, 2017), Desires (Il Mulino, 2019), and The Revolt of the Body (Laterza, 2023).She has served as director of the Galleria Civica di Modena and the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation, and was president of the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation – City of Venice.Vettese has curated and co-curated several exhibitions, including the Norway Pavilion (2013), the tribute to Emilio Vedova (2007), and the John Cage exhibition (1993) at the Venice Biennale, where she also chaired the jury in 2009.Among her other co-curated exhibitions are solo shows of Yayoi Kusama (2005), Richard Hamilton (2007), Ugo Rondinone (2007), Rebecca Horn (2009), Piero Gilardi (2006), Peter Doig (2015), Meg Webster (2015), and Arcangelo Sassolino (2024).She co-curated the FAR course at the Antonio Ratti Foundation (1995–2003) and has taught at Bocconi University in Milan.She has been a member of several scientific committees, including those of Villa Panza, AGO ModenaMusei, and the Madre Museum (all currently active).Since 1986, she has been a regular contributor to the “Domenica” supplement of Il Sole 24 Ore.
